Trip Report [hide]

This is a nice hike. There is a significant pool that stymied our progress. If it had been warmer we might have tried to wade it but it was at least waist deep on me and we weren't up for being cold and wet. The guidebook says that it can dry out, but we weren't so lucky.

Also, if you have a little bit of clearance and/or a short wheelbase you can drive a long way up the wash to minimize the approach. We were alone in the minivan and I didn't have the courage to drive up the wash by myself (without someone to help push if needed). For example, a Subaru Forester can make it up the wash.

Finally, there is good dispersed camping all up and down the wash. If you just want to roll in and quickly pitch a tent or throw down a tarp to spend the night this is a great place to do it.
